Official Language Notice

This document is the official English version of the policy.

1. Introduction

Welcome to UseScreencast ("UseScreencast", "we", "our", or "us").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit https://usescreencast.com (the "Website").

The Website promotes the Screencast browser extension and provides information, documentation, installation guidance, and support resources related to the extension.

By accessing or using the Website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Voluntarily

We collect information that you voluntarily submit through our support contact form, including:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Message content

Providing this information is entirely voluntary.

Minimal Server-Side Statistics

For every request for a public HTML page, our server immediately increments aggregated counters. The analytics store contains only:

  • Calendar day
  • A predefined page category
  • Language taken from the page URL
  • HTTP status group (2xx, 3xx, 4xx or 5xx)
  • A broad server response-time range
  • An aggregate request count

This analytics store does not contain IP addresses or their hashes, user-agent strings, referrer URLs, query strings, cookies, exact event times, visitor IDs or session IDs. These counters represent server requests, not unique people or visits.

Security Data

IP addresses may be processed temporarily in memory for rate limiting, spam prevention and protection of the Website. Infrastructure error logs may also process technical data when necessary to investigate a fault or security incident. Security data is not used for marketing analytics.

Detailed proxy access logging is disabled for the Website. Security and application error logs are kept separately from the aggregate analytics store and are limited to information necessary to investigate faults and security incidents.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Operate and maintain the Website
  • Provide customer support
  • Respond to inquiries
  • Improve Website functionality
  • Understand aggregate demand for public pages and languages
  • Monitor HTTP errors and server performance
  • Detect and prevent technical issues
  • Improve user experience
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations

We do not sell personal information.

4. Support Communications

When you submit a support request, we use the information you provide solely for:

  • Responding to your inquiry
  • Providing technical assistance
  • Following up regarding your request

We do not use support requests for marketing purposes.

5. Cookies and Analytics

Before you make a choice, and after you decline analytics, the Website does not load Google Analytics or Yandex Metrica and does not send analytics pings to those providers.

If you accept analytics, the Website may use analytics technologies to:

  • Remember your selected language
  • Analyze visitor interactions
  • Measure clicks on the extension installation buttons
  • Improve Website performance and usability

The Website does not store or upload advertising click identifiers such as yclid or gclid and does not upload offline conversions.

Known advertising click identifiers are removed from the browser address bar before analytics can start. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals are conservatively treated as a decline of optional analytics by this Website.

For more information, please review our Cookie Policy.

  • Taking steps at your request when you contact support
  • Compliance with applicable legal requirements

You may object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us. You may withdraw analytics consent at any time through the “Cookie settings” control in the Website footer.

Daily local analytics aggregates are kept for up to 400 days and are then automatically deleted. The cookie that records your analytics choice is kept for up to 180 days. The language preference cookie is kept for up to 365 days and is used only after analytics consent in the current Website configuration.

Rate-limit state normally exists only for minutes in server memory. Security and diagnostic data is kept only for the shortest period necessary for the relevant security or fault-investigation purpose.

We encourage parents and guardians to monitor their children's internet usage. If a child under the relevant legal age submits personal data to us, we will delete that data as soon as we become aware of it.

If you believe we might have any personal data from or about a child under the legal age, please contact us at usescreencast@gmail.com so we can remove it immediately.

13. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
